Blogging- First Amendment right

The Internet was for everyone to uphold the First Amendment right of free-speech. The Internet is the most participatory form of mass speech yet developed.Blogs fulfill this participatory, speech-enhancing function, allowing individuals to cover and talk about any subject in detail.
Blogs are online journals or diaries where individuals can post daily entries about the subjects of their choice. Bloggers write about everything; there are blogs on almost every subject imaginable. Just as with any mode of communication, blogs can involve a variety of First Amendment interests. My question is should bloggers be subject to repercussions of their words if offensive or deeming? Do some bloggers take First Amendment freedoms too far?
